SUMMARY:20 Feb Minecraft\, Feb Half term\, Wimbledon
DESCRIPTION:In this 1-day workshop\, the children will learn to code using Minecraft\, in a fun learning environment. \nDate: Wednesday\, February 20 \nTime: 10AM – 3PM \nVenue: King’s College School\, Southside\, Wimbledon Common\, London SW19 4TT \n(Please arrive via the porter’s entrance at the front of the school. There is no parking available on site but plenty of on-street parking options are available around the Common). \nChallenges may vary depending on the child’s age/ability as we have multiple streams running within each session. \n\n\n\nCoding with Minecraft \nLearn how to code in Java with Minecraft in a highly interactive learning environment! \nThe participant can use a drag & drop interface which is highly intuitive\, but the blocks also show the actual java code too. Coding concepts like variables\, if/then/else statements and constructors will be learnt. More advanced participants can switch any time from block-based drag-and-drop code to Javascript. \nThe children can play with their creations and show their friends at the end of the session on a secure server that only the course participants on the day will have access to. \n\nCode in Minecraft using a Java editor\nIncrease complexity with Conditions and Variables\nLearn about Boolean and Loops\nTest and debug using logic and systematic reasoning\nConnect your world and Play in Minecraft\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \nAll courses are led by qualified Engineers\, Physicists\, Mathematicians\, and Computer Scientists. \nAll children between the ages of 7 and 12 are welcome to register. No prior coding experience necessary. \nIf your child has been to one of these sessions before\, then their learning will be extended further and they will not have to repeat the same content as before. At any course\, we have 3 different streams operating. \n  \n
