It is the most popular programming language in the world and is widely used by all the leading tech companies such as Google, Amazon and Facebook. This class is a great introduction to both fundamental coding concepts and the Python programming language. It is designed for late primary to secondary aged students who are looking to take their Python programming skills to the next level. Python 2 builds on the principles covered in Python 1 and covers object oriented programming in greater depth. Children will start to use popular Python libraries such as Pandas, Skikit for machine learning, and PyGame. We will also explore web development techniques using Python libraries such as Django. The objective of the Python 2 course is to help children become confident and independent programmers.

    This Easter holiday allows you to create mobile apps for both Android and iOS. You can programme powerful functionality into your design and upload your amazing creations to the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Learn to design your user interface (UI) to be engaging, functional and proactive with regards to your user’s needs. Code the interactions within your user interface for a seamless user experience. Our block based code editor is particularly suitable for this application because it is really easy to use and can be built up to more text-heavy coding once you get comfortable with the basics. This camp is a great introduction to both fundamental programming concepts and design thinking. By the end of the course, the students will be comfortable programming and creating content for mobile applications and will have published at least one app on to Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.

In this online May HT holiday camp, the students will be taught to code using Minecraft, in a block-based programming language (Microsoft MakeCode). Individual days can be booked but a full week would really allow the students to grasp the coding concepts really well.

It is highly recommended that you use two devices, one to work on, and the other for Zoom where the tutor will be sharing his or her screen and communicating with your child.
